Our beginnings

Delirium Café-Leesburg began as a dream after an eye opening trip to Belgium by owner, Curtis Allred. While on that first trip, Curtis was able to see the regional variations of style throughout the country, falling in love with Belgian beer to the core. During the trip, Curtis was part of the weekend long national beer festival in the capital city of Brussels. After a day of enjoying the nation’s prized products, Curtis and a group had the opportunity to experience the original Delirium Café location just of the Grand Place in what is now referred to as the Delirium Village. The original location boasts the Guinness Book of World Records LARGEST beer list with over 3,000 unique beers on the menu at that time (2011). “The thing that amazed me most was that while the list was of course mostly Belgian, their list contained some amazing beers from all over the world. They even had an entire floor dedicated to hoppy beers called the Hoppy Loft where they even had several American IPA’s on draft!” That reverence for all beer styles ultimately led Curtis to the conclusion that something this awesome could certainly do well in the United States.

Upon returning to the US, Curtis put together the plan and the resources to open the first licensed US location of Delirium Café. With time, diligence, and a fair spot of Delirium beers, Delirium Café-Leesburg opened on May 15th, 2017 and transformed the historic district streetscape for the future to come. Our outpost of this international brand features all the nuance of our 150+year old property, with all the modern touches necessary for our discerning clientele. We feature 40 draft lines pouring not just our namesake beers, but outstanding Belgians and Domestics as well. There’s a great deal of delicious beer being brewed here in Virginia, and we make sure to feature all the best we can get our hands on.

Our kitchen features handcrafted wings, burgers, and frites along with Belgian favorites like a variety of mussels and waffles on the menu. Delirium Café in Leesburg also features a bottled beer selection boasting over 250 selections as well as a specialty cocktail menu enhanced by local distilleries.

Curtis also happens to be a Court of Masters Certified Sommelier and while beer is the inspiration for The Café, Curtis will never forget his friends who enjoy a great glass of wine while others enjoy their beer. Delirium Café in Leesburg is a great spot for outdoor get togethers, special events in our private dining areas, or hanging out with friends in our bar and lounge area.
